Shawn has been coaching athletes throughout the valley for over five years.
He has a Bachelors degree from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Environmental Engineering.
His collegiate career began as a football walk-on at the University of
Arizona at which point he met
Coach Mike Maynard (throws coach) who introduced him to the hammer
throw. He learned the olympic lifts from
Meg Ritchie who was the strength coach
at University of Arizona at the
time. After transferring to RPI, Shawn continued his athletic career and was
a two-time All-American in the hammer throw and a New York State Collegiate
Champion. Along with many track accolades, Shawn was a First Team All-League linebacker and led the RPI team with over 100 tackles his senior
season.
Shawn resides in Maricopa with his wife Rita and their three daughters
Ailish, Ireland, Fiona, and their two dogs, Mickey & Merlin. |
